coverage & cut aways

COVERAGE
coverage when shooting a scene is the amount of different shot and angles used when filming a scene. it is important to have a lot of coverage for a scene, because if gives the editor more footage to work with, and gives the editor a wider range of shots to use when putting the final scene together.

CUT AWAYS
cutaways are shots not of the main action in the scene, but a view of an object or location. cutaways are often used mainly to add length to a scene. cutaways also help to show setting or surroundings of the scene main action.
